Chapter 2 of Invent your Event is intended for smaller scale, stand-alone Roald Dahl activity and will provide the opportunity for communities across Wales to celebrate the centenary of Roald Dahl in 2016.
Take inspiration from the extraordinary life and works of the world’s No.1 Storyteller to organise a Roald Dahl-themed literary event in your community. This could take the form of a talk, lecture, reading, workshop, panel event, literary walk or something different entirely. Use your imagination and invent your event! Libraries, youth groups, charities, literary societies, local festivals, businesses and schools are all eligible to apply.
Organisers can apply for up to 50% funding towards their event/activity. This will be capped at a maximum of £400 per application (for an event totalling £800). Eligible costs include fees, reasonable travel and accommodation expenses. Production and pre-production and rehearsal costs will not be considered.
Literature Wales has commissioned a series of ‘off-the-shelf’ events, from workshops to lectures’ with some of Wales’ favourite writers. To see the full list of events, click here.
Chapter 2 of Invent your Event is intended for literary events, and as such only writers’ and literary practitioners’ fees will be considered. These artists must also be Wales-based. Chapter 2 will operate with monthly deadlines. These are as follows:
